Dear member of Team MSU:
Our commitment to continuing to make Michigan State University a great place to work took another step forward last year with the establishment of the new WorkLife Office. Operating from Linton Hall, the office will combine theWomen’s Resource Center and the Family Resource Center and add focus to our programs. Through this and other measures, we are committed to having an environment supportive of both your work and personal life, extending to all who work at MSU and embracing individuals, spouses and partners, and immediate, blended, and extended families.
Many things go into making an organization an exceptional employer, and we’re interested in hearing your thoughts. This month, we’re participating in The Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Great Colleges to Work For” survey, part of a program recognizing institutions that have built great workplaces.
The survey, designed specifically for higher education, will be distributed March 23 to a random sample of full-time faculty, administrators, and staff. Those selected will receive an invitation via email. I urge you to take the time to participate if selected. A high response rate will help ensure accurate and valuable results. MSU will receive a summary of responses after The Chronicle publishes the findings in July.
This is a completely confidential survey. Surveys will be processed by ModernThink LLC, a workplace consulting firm, and Michigan State will not be given any information that would enable us to connect survey data to individuals. Your honest feedback will help MSU understand the organizational competencies and relationships that influence our culture.
Thank you, in advance, for your participation. Please contact Mike Zeig (zeigmich@msu.edu) in the Office of Planning and Budgets or visit www.ChronicleGreatColleges.com if you have questions.
Sincerely,
June Pierce Youatt Satish Udpa
